In the end i have continued working on the app and developing it in order to make it better as you can see below. I have added in some gradient that goes from grey to transparent to add a sense of depth within the app. Furthermore, i have added a border around each museum that is enlarged and blurred to blend in with the picture.  As well as i have decided to include a "Museum of the day" feature meaning that in this it is the Messner Mountain Museum and everyday the user visits the app it would recommend/suggest the user different museums that they might never heard of.  Furthermore, i have decided to include a phrase "Good Morning" that would change after 12pm to Good Afternoon as well the colour of the gradient would go darker to reflect the afternoon mood. Including the Good Morning phrase was crucial for me this is because it gives off the feeling of the app being personalized and direct with the user potentially making the experience more pleasant.  To further...

Here is how the museum page would look like for every museum and if you click on one of the popular arts it would enlarge the picture and it would give you a short paragraph about the work. If you swipe the art it would give you some fun facts about it. Furthermore, as my ideology was to have the app to include everything the museum page also includes a book a visit tab which transfers you to the calendar which allows you to book a visit for the museum. Also, as you can see the on the museum page there would be some information related to the museum describing it and reviews of other people using the app as well as other reviews taken from other portals in order to gather knowledge about the museum.

Here are some of the key tabs throughout the app that you can access using the bottom bar like Community, Explore or AR.  When it comes to community it shows your profile as well as posts made by other users and it allows you to sort whether the post is trending, has just been added or been most discussed within the last 24 hours this allows the user to decide what type of information he wants to see. As well as user is able to create a post using the plus button at the bottom right.  When it comes to AR this screen will show you a map of the current floor map and will show your current location as well as if there are any available AR works nearby. Furthermore, after clicking on one of them it will pop up with the AR screen navigation that would display arrows on the ground in order to direct you to the work you are looking for.  Here is the explore page which everyday would refresh with a different quote each day as well different museums each day. They are museums that...

In the beginning phases it was important for me to have a rough idea of what the app would look like so i made some sketches and mock-ups. As you can see in the second screenshot i had an idea for the bottom bar to be slide up based meaning that the user instead of tapping it would slide up to enter each section. However after some thought through this i have rejected this idea as being too noisy and distractive for the user and in the end i ended up going with the simple approach of having typical buttons at the back. This is because it was important for me to have an intuitive experience for the user.

Here is the settings tab with various different options that the user can toggle off or on this allows the user the freedom in order to customize the experience in the way he wants. Furthermore, below is the template/rough sketch of how AR view would look like.

Today i have been thinking through what type of app do i want to make. I have been researching various app designs and what i would base my app of.  At first i was thinking of making a sport app that would show statistics that would go together with glasses meaning that you would be able to customize your viewing experience in the way you want to. I have also started to create some logos for the app. However i have aborted that idea due to simplicity of it and i didn't have a plan onto what type of features i would additionally include  So later on i came up with an idea to instead do an all in one museum app which would allow you to book, check, explore and connect your virtual glasses. All of this would be in one place convenient for the user. And came up with the following logo

UI-28th September

During today's session we have been introduced into the concept of the UI and have been shown examples of what makes a good UI and what should be avoided. Furthermore, we have learnt about the history of design and how in 2010s skeumorphism was popular which is a design that is intended to look 3d. And how later on companies have complied more with the theory of a flat design in order to appeal to the public and follow the current trends. This means that the design is more minimalistic and in some cases more professional looking.
